Von Darwin nach Komodo, Teil 1

Komodo, 30.08.2026.

„I must be a mermaid… I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living“ Anais Nin

To close your eyes and to be transported
More communication
Early morning rain in the dry season
Let things flow
Learning to trust the uncertainty
Fresh cuts.. who am I?
It’s time to revise the contract
Transition periods are uncomfortable
Shadows
Refueling with 600 litres of diesel
Definition of interrogate? ABF seem well trained
Offering the ocean a gift from the past…
Moving on up
Surreal
Eyes of wonder
Captivated
These colours
Patterns of lifetimes slowly vanish
It’s cake time
Smoooooothies
Contemplation
Booby is circling us…
Pastel sunset
Sparkles
Kaffir barramundi n crunchy asian snake bean salad
Learning to begin again…
Evocative sea creatures
Water deities
Mysterious
Mermaid myths
Surrender and settle into the trip
Limen
Blue velvet as far as the eyes can see
As calm as a freshwater lake
1am check-in by ABF… who, what, where, why, how?
Banded Sea snake 80NM offshore
Clearest of clear water
Sharks out in force…one two three four five and six! I think it’s a shiver of sharks
Another low fly over visit from ABF…I think they are over resourced!
Mobs of mini crabs swimming on by
Dwarf Spinner Dolphin with squeaks and dancing
Wonders of the deep
Night time sailing under a full moon
Propeller fish or flying fish are so cool
Indonesian Border Force…with a bright green tarpaulin. Perhaps we could send our neighbours some funds and resources.
And it was all yellow
East Nusa Tenggara check-in it was all about the selfies, video content of taking down the yellow flag, gifting bright juicy lemons and a sailing cap. It was like watching a documentary being made rather than customs officials at work! It was GOLD.
Halyard replacement with splicing and spiffy tools
Grilled market fish, papaya flower salad, fresh juice
Fuel transportation to remote islands
Our own fuel delivery
Tropical grown fruits taste real and delicious
48 elliptical orbits
Personal coffee and lyndt chocolate room service
Passionfruit and juicy mango
Limoncello, champagne and sparkling aqua
Share plates for lunch….mmmm…cheeeeeese
Drawn to the sea
Vibrant and playful
I feel like a queen“
